This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when accessing, downloading, and/or using the Service and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect:
- On or through the Service.
- In email, text, and other electronic messages between you and the Service.
It does not apply to information collected by:
- Us offline or through any means other than the Service.
- Any third party, including through any application or content that may link to or be accessible from the Service.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not access, download, or use the Service. By accessing, downloading, or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. Your continued access or use of the Service after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes. So, please check this Privacy Policy periodically for updates.
What information do we collect and how do we collect it?
We collect several types of information from and about users of our Service, including information:
- By which you may be personally identified, such as your first and last name, email address, physical address, and/or phone number (“personal information”).
- That is about you but individually does not identify you, such as an employer’s company name.
- That is about your internet connection, the equipment you use to access our Service, and usage details.
We collect this information:
- Directly from you when you provide it to us.
- From third parties, for example, your employer when confirming your right to access and use our Service as your employer’s employee.
- Automatically as you navigate through the Services, which may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies or other tracking technologies as described below.
Information You or Your Employer Provides to Us.
When accessing, downloading, or using the Service, you may be asked to enter your first and last name, email address, physical address, and/or phone number to register for the Service, download the Service, use the Service (including to permit any integrations to third-party tracking websites and/or applications that use information we collect to track your progress), receive medals for achieving certain milestones through the Service, and the like.
For example:
- When you start a challenge through the Service, you have the option of entering your email address(es) to be invited to your challenge.
- When you submit an inquiry through the Service or by an email to us, we collect your submitted information to support your inquiry.
- When you subscribe to our newsletter and/or special promotions through the Service, we add your email address to our newsletter subscription platform, which we license from a third party.
In addition, when using the Service, we gather step, active minutes, and other exercise-related information from your connected device for the purposes of tracking your progress and calculating your score with respect to the challenges in which you participate.
Information We Collect through Automatic Data Collection Technologies.
As you navigate through and interact with the Service, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:
- Recognize your browser (if you allow) so that we can capture and remember certain information about your interaction with the Service, such as items in your shopping cart or to understand your preferences based on previous or current activity.
- Compile aggregate data about traffic to and interaction with the Service so that we can offer better experiences and tools in the future (or allow trusted third-party services that track this information to do so on our behalf).
- Keep track of third-party advertisements (as described below).
For more information about your options with respect to cookies, please see What are your choices about how we use and disclose your information? below.
If you turn cookies off, it won’t affect the user experience.
When do we collect information?
We collect information from you when you fill out a form or enter information on or through the Service or when you submit it to us via live chat, email, phone, and/or web or app inquiries.
We collect step, active minutes, and other exercise-related information from your connected activity tracking device(s) when you log into the Service, during your use of the Service, and at regular intervals in the background when you have activated the Service.
How do third parties use cookies or other tracking technologies through the Service?
We use Google AdSense Advertising in the Service. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads through the Service. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on previous visits to the Service and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt-out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Ad and Content Network privacy policy.
We have implemented the following:
- Remarketing with Google AdSense
- Google Display Network Impression Reporting
- Demographics and Interests Reporting
Google uses first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our Service.
This website uses the Google AdWords Remarketing Service
This website uses the Google AdWords remarketing service to advertise on third-party websites (including Google) to previous visitors to the Service. It could mean that we advertise to previous visitors who haven’t completed a task on or in the Service, for example using the contact form to make an inquiry. This could be in the form of an advertisement on the Google search results page, or a site in the Google Display Network. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to websites. Any data collected by Google will be used in accordance with Google’s privacy policy.
You can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Preferences page, and if you want to do so, you can opt out of interest-based advertising entirely by cookie settings or permanently using a browser plugin as described below.
Opting out:
You can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Settings page or by using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser add on. You also can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI“) on the NAI’s website.
